The final piece to my Team System Beta 2 puzzle. At a scant 847.24 MB to boot.
Me + Team System Install + a few cocktails. Looks like it’s going to be a long night.

I was going through Mark Michaelis’ MSDN article on Team Test and ran into a problem executing the first demo. My test would always abort do to a Script Blocking exception reported from my Microsoft AnitSpyware tool. It appears that Team Test generates a batch script file under {USERPROFILE}\Local Settings\Application Data\VSEqtDeploymentRoot and attempts to execute it. This is where the AnitSpyware tool jumps in and says “I don’t think so…” and causes the test to abort.
This issue has already been documented as a bug and the reported workaround is to “temporarily disable AntiSpyware software” (?!?!) but I felt a better (but not perfect) answer is to just disable the Script Blocking component in AntiSpyware. To do this, open Microsoft AntiSpyware and select Real-time Protection from the upper-right panel. On the Real-time Protection screen select Application Agents, than scroll down to Script Blocking in the Application Agent Checkpoints list and Deactivate it.
Hopefully this will be resolved in time for the production release.

The downloads are broken down as follows:
Visual SourceSafe 2005 Beta2 (English) – 172.97 MB
Visual Studio 2005 Standard Beta 2 (English) – 2.85 GB
Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition Test Load Agent Beta 2 (English) – 144.75 MB
Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server Beta 2 (English) – 273.15 MB
Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite Beta 2 (English) – 3.75 GB
I kicked off the Team Suite and Team Foundation downloads with a transfer rate of ~150 KB/sec. I figured there might be a rush and the transfer speeds would be much worse. Still, I have to wait another 7 hours 27 minutes to completion. Looks like I’m going to have a busy weekend working on my Team Build article with the Beta2 bits!
…Universal Studios.
Does Microsoft have a special deal with Universal? I had my Universal fill at PDC2003. Don’t get me wrong, it will still be blast. I was just hoping that they might splurge this year and rent out one of the Disney parks.Who wouldn’t love riding the Tower of Terror and Aerosmith’s Rock ‘N Roll roller coaster after a few cocktails???
I just registered for TechEd 2005 and was somewhat suprised to see that the hotels are filling up fast. As a matter of fact, there isn’t any availability for Thursday night (June 9th) at any of the hotels! Now mind you, this is at the Microsoft discountedrate. They might have availability outside of the discounted rate but that doesn’t show up in the TechEd registration system. I wanted to stay at the Peabody but they weren’t listed on the registration page, so I called them directly. The Peabody is sold out completely! No non-discounted rates, no rooms, no nothing.
I decided to callMaritz Travel(the one’s handling the TechEd registration) and I was connected with a delightful lady named Sue. Sue informed me that there was a mad dash on for the TechEd early bird registration in the last week and the hotels were filling up fast. Sue also informed me that they are trying to request more rooms (at the discounted rate) for Thursday night. Call themand let them know you would also like to stay Thursday night and they’ll put the request in.In the meantime, I’m booked at the Residence Inn SeaWorld.
If you haven’t done so already, be sure to register for TechEd, or at least book your hotel!
