First the announcement and now tonight, U2 in concert! It’s going to be tough to top this week but it sure will be fun trying.

…that I too am joining Microsoft. I was fortunate enough to land my dream job, Developer Evangelist for the Midwest district. That means that if you live in the states of Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin and you are a developer, it is my job to make sure you have the information and resources you need to become a better Microsoft developer. I will also be your sounding board for all of your feedback on Microsoft’s tools and technologies. If you have any thoughts and/or complaints on what we’re doing or where we’re heading, I’d be more than happy to talk with you.

I’m highly looking forward to my new career endeavor and look forward to working more closely with the Midwest developer community.

I’ve had a number of people ask me about implementing continuous integration in Team System. It just so happens that Buck Hodges provides us with the code from Doug Neuman’s PDC demo doing this very thing. Enjoy!

During the PDC keynote, Scott Guthrie did a demo of the new Atlas project type and controls for Visual Studio 2005. You can find all you want out about Atlas at the ASP.NET Atlas site. There you will find Documentation, Hands-on-Labs, Tutorials and the new Atlas Project Type for Visual Studio 2005. The catch is that it’s only available for Beta2 at the moment.

Jim Allchin just showed a demo during the PDC keynote where he popped a memory stick into a laptop and Vista was able to utilize the available memory space on the stick and increase the system’s memory capacity by 500MBs! Apparently the data isn’t lost when you remove the stick and all of the memory on the stick is encrypted. Now that’s cool!
